"The Well"

Steng Traeng was a small, rural community in Cambodia. The people of the village were a needful community, but they were a close-knit community. They helped each other out, and they looked out for each other.

One of the biggest problems in the village was the lack of clean water. The water was often contaminated. This led to many cases of diarrhea and other waterborne diseases.

One day, a young girl named Soriya was walking to the river to get water. She was carrying her baby brother, who was sick with diarrhea. As she walked, she saw a well in the distance. She had never seen the well before, and she didn't know who owned it. But she decided to see if there was any clean water in it. When she is about to fill her bucket with clean Water the said ‘Oh my poor little girl, even though the water is clean but you have to boil it first darling’. At that moment she was stunned to speak and she filled her bucket with water and took it back to her village. She also knew that it was important to boil water before drinking, the well-told her. So, for the next week, she boiled the water for her younger brother before he drank it. She also started to teach her mother about the importance of boiling water.

After a week, Soriya's baby brother was completely healthy. He had not had any more diarrhea, and he was gaining weight. Soriya was so happy that she had been able to help her brother get better. She was also proud of herself for learning about the importance of boiling water and for teaching her mother about it.

The other villagers heard about the well, and they came to get water from it. The water from the well was a lifesaver. It helped to prevent many cases of diarrhea and other waterborne diseases.

The villagers were so grateful for the well that they decided to build a fence around it to protect it. They also built a small shrine to the well, and they would often come to the well to pray.

The well became a symbol of hope for the villagers. It showed them that despite poverty, there is still hope for a better future.

Soriya's story is a reminder of the importance of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. When people have access to these basic necessities, they can live healthier and happier lives. It is also a reminder that even small changes can make a big difference. By boiling water for her younger brother, Soriya was able to save his life.
