YLWA Lesson Learned Forum: A Platform for Youth Leadership in WASH

Introduction:

The Center for Sustainable Water (CSW) and WASH Media are excited to announce the YLWA Lesson Learned Forum, a platform for youth leadership in WASH. This event will take place on July 27, 2023, at 8 am at the Poulo Wai Hotel and Apartment.

Background:

The program's objective is to interest young people in entering the social development sector to facilitate the acceleration of universal access to water supply and sanitation for the most vulnerable groups in Cambodia. In addition to strengthening communities, it addresses the local human resource shortage in the WASH/WRM (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene / Water Resources Management) sector. Moreover, the program is designed to provide leadership and real-life experience to final-year students and fresh graduates, in order to enable them to pursue viable pathways to employment in the sector. This can be a case study or lesson learned for relevant stakeholders working on human resource development and capacity building to reflect and adjust their training curriculum if necessary.

Objective:

The YLWA Lesson Learned Forum will provide a platform for YLWA youths to share their experiences and lessons learned from the program. They will discuss the challenges they faced, the successes they achieved, and the impact they have made. The forum will also feature a panel discussion with experts in WASH and youth development.

This event is free and open to the public. We encourage everyone to attend to learn from the YLWA youths and to celebrate their achievements.
